Greg Anderson’s easy, relaxed smile is a key indicator of what’s to come out on the driving range. It’s easy to relax when your experiences as a member of the PGA of America have provided more than two decades of wide-ranging assignments in golf instruction, operations and management at resorts like the legendary Princeville at Hanalei and now, with the Greg Anderson Golf Academy at Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park, California.
Clients and students find that learning the art of swinging the golf club from a top pro like Greg is a very good thing, reflected immediately on your score card. Lessons, whether group or individual, become a shared, uplifting experience.
Greg’s hands-on encouragement and instruction is aided by the same advanced technology used by top touring professionals and swing coaches, including Hank Haney, the swing coach for Tiger Woods. JC Video/Computer Swing Analysis, and Zelocity Launch Monitor help identify the hidden strengths in your game, measuring such variables as club head speed, ball velocity, side spin, total spin, launch angle, carry and total distance. Ball striking is done upon the state-of-the-art Golf Mat, which professional golfer V.J. Singh has called a wonderful, divot-like surface. Using technology and years of practical experience, game improvement tips and drills follow, along with swing sequence photos and available club fitting, if desired.
Greg is no stranger to Foxtail Golf Club, since he served as the PGA Head Golf Professional and Director of Instruction at the earlier Mountain Shadows Resort in the early 1990’s. He then moved to Hawaii as General Manager of the Makai Golf Course at the Princeville Resort before returning home to Sonoma County to work as a Director of Golf Hospitality for Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates.
As a member of the Professional Golfers of America since 1986 with service as a General Manager, Head Golf Professional, Director of Instruction, Golf Course Designer and proven abilities as a top-flight hospitality executive, Greg stands ready to provide valuable insights and advice for any golf related enterprise.
Private lessons are available Wednesday through Sunday, with package rates available. Group lessons are offered on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For the latest information, check the Foxtail website or stop by the comfortable office of the Greg Anderson Golf Academy at the northeast side of the driving range.
And, as you’d expect, there’s one other reason his relaxed approach brings a smile: his handicap still ranks him as a scratch golfer, ready to lead by example.
